Ogbomosho
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $130, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 177 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $45 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $80 Thank you for reading my story.

Updates from Lucky

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($40 in total) I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Lucky

  • Best of luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out.

    • Hope things get better soon, Lucky. I hope things turn around soon. Don't give up

      • shared it with a few friends. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Ogbomosho.

        • Great idea, hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Sacramento.
