A skate park for Jacaranda Primary School: help our neighbors in Birmingham
A community-led a skate park at Jacaranda Primary School that will serve 319 neighbors.
Anywhere in the world758 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,800.
It will serve about 319 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Materials: $1,100
• Permits and inspections: $110
• Safety equipment and signage: $330
• Tools hire and delivery: $260

Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Duisburg but we're thinking of you. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing this, Rachel. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out.
