A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Sukkur

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 203 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $100 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Permits and inspections: $10 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Haider
