A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Reading

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $2,500 for materials.

Reading
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,500. It will serve about 206 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,500 goes: • Materials: $2,050 • Permits and inspections: $130 • Safety equipment and signage: $320 Thanks for reading all this. - Serenity
