A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Mumbai
Volunteers in Mumbai are raising $350 for a skate park at the Harmony vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $105, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 194 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $260
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
