A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Mohammedia
Volunteers in Mohammedia are raising $700 for a skate park at Sycamore Primary School.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 543 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Materials: $510
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
