A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in London
Volunteers in London are raising $2,500 for a skate park at Maple Primary School.
🇬🇧 London, England, United Kingdom773 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,500.
It will serve about 382 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Materials: $1,950
• Permits and inspections: $95
• Safety equipment and signage: $195
• Tools hire and delivery: $260
Thank you so much.
