A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Lansing
Volunteers in Lansing are raising $3,600 for a skate park at the Unity health centre yard.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,600.
It will serve about 311 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
