A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Lahore
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $250 for materials.
🇵🇰 Pakistan981 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 518 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $250 goes:
• Materials: $115
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
Glad we found this place.

You're not alone, Khalid. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Lowell donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Lahore

Rooting for you, Khalid. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
