A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Kobe
Volunteers in Kobe are raising $1,600 for a skate park at Jacaranda Park.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,600.
It will serve about 477 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Materials: $1,200
• Tools hire and delivery: $200
• Safety equipment and signage: $200
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Wishing you the best, Junko. Shared this with my family. Take care.
so sorry you're going through this. Hope this works out for you. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.
Wishing you the best, Junko. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Dortmund.
Sending love, Junko. More neighborhoods should do this. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Kharkiv.
Wishing you peace, Junko. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
