A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Jakarta Barat
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $300 for materials.
🇮🇩 Indonesia1,104 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $150, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 333 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $190
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $35

Sending strength, Lukman. More neighborhoods should do this. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Hang in there, Lukman. Shared it with a few friends. Take care
hope things get better soon. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 3 people at work.
Thinking of you, Lukman. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best
so sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
