A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Bandung

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $75, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 458 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $260 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $20 • Tools hire and delivery: $80 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Zahra
