A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Arusha
Volunteers in Arusha are raising $300 for a skate park at Acacia Primary School.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 379 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
• Materials: $200
