Zalak served fourteen years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2023 with a service-related knee injury. She has been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place. The plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote comes to $550. Zalak is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly. Where the $550 goes: • Training provider fees: $195 • Housing deposit and first month: $185 • Transport to appointments: $65 • Essential household items: $105 With deep gratitude, Yash
