A service dog for Sameer, an army veteran in Saket
Sameer served six years in the army; $900 would cover a trained service dog and handler course.

I served six years in the army and was discharged in 2025 with chronic tinnitus. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $900.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $900 goes:
• Training provider fees: $440
• Housing deposit and first month: $320
• Transport to appointments: $80
• Essential household items: $60
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Anaheim.
