A service dog for Komal, a navy veteran in Pune
After ten years of service, Komal is raising funds for a trained service dog and handler course.
🇮🇳 Pune, Maharashtra, India1,015 views
I served ten years in the navy and was discharged in 2024 with chronic tinnitus. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $600.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $600 goes:
• Training provider fees: $230
• Housing deposit and first month: $240
• Transport to appointments: $75
• Essential household items: $55
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

So sorry you're going through this, Komal. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
Wishing you peace. This could happen to any of us. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
Shared this with my family. I'm in farming myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
