Pooja served twelve years in the navy and was discharged in 2024 with a service-related knee injury. She has been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place.
The plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote comes to $650.
Pooja is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $650 goes:
• Training provider fees: $200
• Housing deposit and first month: $340
• Transport to appointments: $55
• Essential household items: $55
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
