A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the Unity community hall that will serve 318 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $720, and the remaining cost is $3,200.
It will serve about 318 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Materials: $2,600
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Safety equipment and signage: $160
• Tools hire and delivery: $190
