For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $200.
It will serve about 127 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $200 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $90
Glad we found this place.

Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Nottingham donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
thinking of you and your family, Indah. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
