A sensory garden for children with autism for the Maple vacant lot: help our neighbors in Ho
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $300 for materials.
🇬🇭 Ho, Volta, Ghana800 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $100, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 410 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $240
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Best of luck, Kojo. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
