A sensory garden for children with autism for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Caloocan
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $400 for materials.
🇵🇭 Caloocan, Metro Manila, Philippines1,210 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 219 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $230
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
Thanks for reading all this.
