A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Rosario
Volunteers in Rosario are raising $700 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the Harmony vacant lot.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 441 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Materials: $500
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
