For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 341 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $115 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $135 Thank you so much.
