A repair café workshop for the old Jacaranda bus depot: help our neighbors in Arlington
Volunteers in Arlington are raising $3,200 for a repair café workshop at the old Jacaranda bus depot.
🇺🇸 Texas, United States2,073 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Jacaranda bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,200.
It will serve about 181 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Materials: $2,400
• Permits and inspections: $280
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $230
Thanks for being kind about this.
