A repair café workshop for the old Harmony bus depot: help our neighbors in Düsseldorf
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $3,500 for materials.
🇩🇪 North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany1,186 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Harmony bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,500.
It will serve about 327 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Materials: $2,450
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $320
• Tools hire and delivery: $440

So sorry you're going through this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Londrina.
