A repair café workshop for the old Harmony bus depot: help our neighbors in Austin
A community-led a repair café workshop at the old Harmony bus depot that will serve 305 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Harmony bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,350.
It will serve about 305 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• Materials: $2,300
• Permits and inspections: $320
• Safety equipment and signage: $510
• Tools hire and delivery: $220
