A repair café workshop for the Maple health centre yard: help our neighbors in Gwagwalada
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $500 for materials.
Anywhere in the world962 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 500 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $370
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
Every share and every dollar helps.
