A repair café workshop for the Lotus health centre yard: help our neighbors in São Paulo

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 452 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $125 • Tools hire and delivery: $175 • Permits and inspections: $100 Glad we found this place.
