A repair café workshop for the Jacaranda health centre yard: help our neighbors in Santarém

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 117 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $280 • Permits and inspections: $100 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Tools hire and delivery: $150 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Josiane
