A repair café workshop for the Harmony community hall: help our neighbors in Mumbai
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $550 for materials.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India846 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 560 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $430
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
