A repair café workshop for the Freedom health centre yard: help our neighbors in Bengaluru

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $160, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 114 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $430 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 Thanks for reading all this. - Yash
