A repair café workshop for Harmony Park: help our neighbors in Mesa
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $2,550 for materials.
🇺🇸 Mesa, Arizona, United States2,635 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,550.
It will serve about 466 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Materials: $1,700
• Permits and inspections: $330
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Tools hire and delivery: $280
