A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Üsküdar
Volunteers in Üsküdar are raising $400 for a repair café workshop at the Unity vacant lot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 308 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Safety equipment and signage: $105

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. permits and inspections comes first ($75) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.
