A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Pune

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 83 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Permits and inspections: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Amol
