We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $150 for materials.

Nsukka
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 508 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $150 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Hope things get better soon, Yinka. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My husband and I read this together. Take care.

    • Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Milan
