A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Nagpur

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 455 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $65 • Permits and inspections: $55 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Tamanna
