A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Mombasa
A community-led a repair café workshop at the old Pioneer bus depot that will serve 340 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Pioneer bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 340 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $260
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $65
• Tools hire and delivery: $135
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
