A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Mesa
A community-led a repair café workshop at Jacaranda Park that will serve 390 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,800.
It will serve about 390 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,800 goes:
• Materials: $2,500
• Permits and inspections: $260
• Safety equipment and signage: $440
• Tools hire and delivery: $600
