A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Macon
A community-led a repair café workshop at Maple Primary School that will serve 576 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,250.
It will serve about 576 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,250 goes:
• Materials: $2,450
• Permits and inspections: $185
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $385
