A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Istanbul
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $300 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 494 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $155
• Permits and inspections: $75
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
