Ekurhuleni
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 555 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $250 • Tools hire and delivery: $105 • Safety equipment and signage: $95 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Annelie

Take care, Annelie. Hope you get there. After 27 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything

Thinking of you and your family, Annelie. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

More neighborhoods should do this. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless
