A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Catania
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $1,750 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Cedar bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $840, and the remaining cost is $1,750.
It will serve about 562 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Materials: $1,100
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $155
• Tools hire and delivery: $265
