A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Cardiff
A community-led a repair café workshop at the Pioneer health centre yard that will serve 475 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,550.
It will serve about 475 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• Materials: $3,000
• Permits and inspections: $85
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Tools hire and delivery: $225
