A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Campinas

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 223 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $650 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $80 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Materials: $525 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
