A ramp for Sathi: volunteers and tools needed
Help Sathi regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇧🇩 Dhaka, Bangladesh625 views
Sathi has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Sathi can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Sathi's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
- effort
- one weekend
- format
- In person in Dhaka

Hang in there. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
