A ramp for Rubén: volunteers and tools needed
Help Rubén regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States99 views
Rubén has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Rubén can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Rubén's family will cook lunch for the team.
I hope life is good to you.

So sorry you're going through this, Jimena. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 6 people at work.
Thinking of you, Jimena. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick.
Sending love, Jimena. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I hope January is when things finally get easier.
Thanks for sharing this, Jimena. Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
