A ramp for Rashidi: volunteers and tools needed
Rashidi uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Rashidi has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Rashidi can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Rashidi's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Wishing Rashidi a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.
Thinking of you and your family, Okello. Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of Nakuru.
stay strong, Okello. Hope this works out for you. Blessings.
Sending good thoughts, Okello. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Kinondoni this morning. Greetings from Kinondoni
