A ramp for Muthoni: volunteers and tools needed
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Arusha.
🇹🇿 Arusha, Arusha, Tanzania948 views
Muthoni has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Muthoni can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Muthoni's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

best of luck. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Ottawa so I could bring a meal. God bless
