A ramp for Manuel: volunteers and tools needed

Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Calamba.

Manuel has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Manuel can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Manuel's family will cook lunch for the team. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • thinking of you, Gilbert. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I hope November is when things finally get easier

    • Good luck. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Calamba.
