A ramp for Madhu: volunteers and tools needed
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Manchester.
🇬🇧 England, United Kingdom822 views
Madhu has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Madhu can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Madhu's family will cook lunch for the team.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Manchester!
wishing you peace. Wishing Madhu a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
so sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Manchester.
thinking of you and your family. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
Wishing you peace, Yamini. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Blessings.
